I was leafing through Google searching for hits under my name when I came across this site called bobongbooks.com which, upon inspection seemed like a normal fan site/forum for Bob Ong admirers. The one thing that caught my attention however was one of the posts there from a certain guy named Blitzen who voiced out his suspicion that the elusive writer’s real name was – you guessed it.
Am I flattered? Who wouldn’t be?
Bob Ong rocks and his genius lies in his informal, Taglish approach to humorous narration peppered with quaint observations and reminiscences. Yep, I also joined The Weakest Link and I surmise we are roughly the same age due to his 80’s flavored school flashbacks but the similarity ends there.
To be mistaken for Bob Ong is definitely an honor but unfortunately I am not the man in question.
